- Set the air fryer temperature to 360°F and allow to preheat for 5 minutes.
- Divide pizza dough into 4 equal sections. Roll each into a 6-inch circle on a lightly floured surface.
- In a mixing bowl, combine chicken, mozzarella, Parmesan, Alfredo sauce, spinach if using, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly until evenly incorporated.
- Distribute one-fourth of the prepared filling onto half of each dough circle, leaving a 1/2-inch border around the edge.
- If desired, top filling with a sprinkle of shredded cheddar cheese for additional crispiness.
- Fold dough over filling to form half-moon shapes. Pinch edges tightly and crimp with a fork to ensure closure.
- Lightly brush the tops of the calzones with beaten egg and then with olive oil to promote color and crispiness.
- Place calzones in the air fryer basket in a single layer; if necessary, cook in batches to avoid crowding.
- Air fry calzones at 360°F for 12 to 15 minutes until golden brown and crisp.
- Allow calzones to cool for 2 to 3 minutes to prevent burns before serving.
